You know you're getting old when you can remember what a 45rpm record is!

I was missing those great record label logos that used to be printed on 45rpm singles.... Y'know, those flat things us old folks call records? Anyway, I decided to take one of my black Donna Karan button-ups and make a "vintage record label" shirt. I did Google image searches for the logos and used Avery T-Shirt transfers to strategically place the different logos on the shirt and iron them into place. It kept my busy mind occupied for about 5 hours (which is good these days) and the shirt came out GREAT! I'll send pics...!

Santa Claus drives a Cutlass Sierra

I had a great X-Mas with the family. We had an unexpected visit from Santa Claus on my Mamaw's (yeah, I said Mamaw) front porch and, although delightful, exciting and entertaining to be treated to a free concert featuring Santa Claus, his acoustic guitar and an assortment of Christmas classics modified for that Elf-Crafted classical guitar, it was a bit creepy when he asked me to sit in his lap for a photo..... it got creepier when asked me to stay seated longer while my sister got Snapture booted on my jailbroken 3G iphone. Those 20-25 seconds are something I'll never get back, but as long as he brings what he promised next year on December 25th, all is forgiven!

What a DRAG!

So, I was going through my hard drive and found this photo of me in drag from about 15 years ago (I think it's even in the slideshow that plays on this page. Anyway,I startd playing around with it (NOT THAT, KIDS!) the photo, I mean.... I don't know how it hgappened, but this photo is awesome now. I can't even recognize me in it..... It's very "not me" but still "Avant" if ya know what I mean.... I don't even this a redneck such as myself is allowed to use "Avant" in a sentence, am I? Well, here's the photo.... Whaddya think? She's HOT, huh?
